Elijah came to 1st Step facing 10 years in prison. He was unemployable, had a bad attitude, and was engrossed in a world of drugs and crime with little hope of a productive future. Through the 1st Step Program, Elijah began to work on his mental, physical, and most importantly, spiritual fitness.
Elijah quickly began to see the benefits of recovery.
He soon found full-time employment, reinstated his driver’s license, and bought a car. Eventually, Elijah would go on to become fully self-supporting by renting his own apartment.
Today, Elijah maintains a positive attitude and has the freedom to pursue his dream — boxing. Elijah continues to be a role-model for current and future 1st Step participants.
