Oklahoma is a nationwide leader in incarcerating young men, with many of them serving sentences for nonviolent offenses. Life behind bars changes these young men forever, and oftentimes for the worst.
Not having life skills or job training, and facing discrimination as ex-convicts, many return to their past lives and the behavior that put them in prison in the first place. Losing a young man to a life of crime is a personal tragedy and a lost opportunity for us all.
